Afloat in Wales
As most of Wales' rivers are steep and fast flowing, they have been used more often for water supply and as a source of power than for boating and shipping.
However, there are a few places where we do have an important role to play in managing navigation and helping to avoid conflict between different uses of the waterways.

Canolfan Tryweryn near Bala, North Wales, is the Agency’s premier recreation asset. It attracts around 70,000 visitors each year for rafting and canoeing. - Wye Navigation
The Agency has been given responsibility for managing the historic navigation on the River Wye. These pages describe how we are doing this, balancing the interests of everyone who uses the river.
